Lucas Glover wins 2009 US Open

Lucas Glover played exceptionally well during the tournament. However, I can't help but wonder what could have happened if the group of Tiger Woods, Padraig Harrington and Angel Cabrera were scheduled to play on the 2nd wave last Thursday.

Clearly, being part of the second wave was favorable. The weather was more forgiving. The scores prove it. After the first round, the average score of the first wave was 2 strokes lower than the second. Also, 11 0f the top 13 players who broke par after the first round were from the second wave.

Obvious conclusion: Timing was definitely EVERYTHING in this US Open.
